Ted Kennedy, Coward of the Senate

The first time the moment of truth came for Ted Kennedy he failed to rise to the occasion and call for help or report the accident to the police. Then later in the evening when friends begged him to call the police he again failed to rise to the occasion. Finally, after sleeping, he still refused to report the accident. Ted Kennedy was and is a coward of a man. My hope is that on the worst days he has ahead of him he remembers that Mary Jo is looking down from heaven and not smiling at his suffering because she knows that the devil will be looking up and smiling in anticipation of Ted joining the rest of the scum in hell.

Kathleen Sebelius Op-Ed is Propaganda

This Op-Ed byKathleen Sebelius is nothing but a fluff piece full of half truths and outright lies.

Her three main points:

"First, to provide Americans with more affordable choices, we’ll set up a marketplace where you can compare plans and pick the one that’s right for you. None of the plans would be allowed to deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition. And one of the options should be a public plan that would increase competition and keep private insurance companies honest.

Second, we have to align incentives for doctors and hospitals so that they’re rewarded based on the quality of care they provide, not on how many tests or procedures they prescribe.

Third, we need to move from a sickness system to a wellness system. By investing in prevention and emphasizing healthy lifestyles, we can save money while improving health."

#1 by forcing insurance companies to cover everyone will raise premiums. Forcing everyone into one-size fits all plans will raise premiums. The reason you can't shop for competing plans today is because of government intervention and mandates, not because of dishonest insurance companies.

#2 If you pay for your own health care you already make sure your health care providers do a good job. Its only in third party payer system, like insurance or Obamacare where this problem occurs and nothing proposed will help that unless you end up rationing or mandating treatments.

#3 It has been shown in countless studies that disease prevention measures don't save money. In fact quite often they are shown to cost more.

This is yet another partisan hack pushing a socialist agenda for Obama.

Organic Food May Not Be Better

Looks like the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine says that organic food is not healthier. To quote the article "A small number of differences in nutrient content were found to exist between organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs, but these are unlikely to be of any public health relevance," said Alan Dangour, one of the report's authors.

This is going to be a tough sell with my wife. We buy alot of organic and grow our own in an organic garden.

Obama ,The Chicago Way

Read Michelle Malkins Bully Boys , this gem at the NY Times Visa's Revoked and finally Blackmail ? . This administration clearly plays hard ball with its supposed friends and wiffle ball with our clear enemies. Maybe this is Obama's definition of "moderate". You get the feeling they really mean, "We Hope you'll Change your mind about opposing us, it would be a shame if something happened to you".

AGW, Health Reform Scam,Foreign Policy, Clinton

Our King/President and World leaders tell the Earth's temperature not to rise. "They are so cool, those world leaders."

Its the Chicago way - America's health-care CEOs are being taken for a ride by Congress and their own lobbyists. "But I thought lobbyists worked for their clients interest ? Maybe they are, the client is Obama and the Democrats."

Obama is Our Foreign Policy Neophyte. "Obama needs another 4 years to rise to the level of neophyte. He's giving empty suits a bad name."

"I believe the central parts of the [EPA] chart are that U.S. action alone will not impact world CO2 levels," EPA Administrator Jackson said. "All pain, no gain. Those EPA scientists are so dope."

Embryonic Stem Cells ...

Lets get some facts out first:

$0 Federal dollars were spent on ANY stem cell research prior to 2001 - ZERO ...

Billions of dollars have been spent by States and private investors on Embryonic Stem cell research since 2001 with not a single cure for a single disease being discovered.

Embryonic Stem cells will NEVER cure Diabetes, AIDS or Parkinson's Disease ... NEVER ... it is impossible because making "new" organs will not cure those diseases ...

Pluripotent stem cells (aka Embryonic stem cells) can now be made from adult stem cells eliminating the need for embryonic stem cells ...

Please read this from US News: Why Embryonic Stem Cells are Obsolete

and Please read this from the NY Times: Rethink Stem Cells? Science Already Has

More wasted federal tax dollars for bad science ...

Dennis Miller and the Rented Mule Reid ...

The Buck Starts Here with Dennis Miller

Heh folks tonight I'm gonna talk about Harry Reid

Now it is one of life’s most pronounced ironies that the Senator who represents Vegas is such a dim bulb ...

I have had it up to 10 feet above my head with Reid's projectile nay-saying and so I present the following ...

With no due respect sir ...

First off, the appearance ...

I'm bemused by the fact that the Libs fancy themselves as young idealists that are going to shake it up ...

And then are forced to fall in behind Dorian Grays lighting stand in ...

Whenever I see Reid speak I half expect to see Marg Helgenberger and the CSI team run out and put a chalk outline around the podium ...

Next ... The voice ...

If its possible to make Mr. Limpet sound like Demosthenes ... Reid does it every time he opens his ashen pie hole and haltingly forces out that tremulous pale grey oratory that sounds like its oozing from a stuck caulking gun ...

Third ... to quote the great Steven Boyd ...

The constant bring down ...

From we killed the Patriot Act to we'll gain House seats to his magnum opus ... We've lost the war ...

Reid has been unrelentingly bleak in his appraisal of the conflict of our lifetime ...

I think he believes that getting his negative comments in early could be the one chance that a non-entity like he has at a place in history ...

His is a mediocre mans Thermopoli ...

Senator, only in the off-the-rack culture that we currently have could a whiny hack like you somehow rise to a position of leadership ...

The bad guys look to you to reinforce their belief that we are the weak horse and eminently conquerable ...

You are making that assertion so easy for them that they no doubt view you as the derriere of said horse ...

Now the first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club ...

Harry I hate to be one to break this to you but trust me ... there are many millions of people who concur with this and don't have the opportunity that I do ...

You are a VAGUE, TRANSLUCENT LIVING SHADE who barely matters ... and if you really want to serve the country that affords a trifle like you the opportunity to delude himself into to thinking that he matters you must NEVER ... EVER speak out loud in public again ...

  • Streamline the US Military ... no overseas bases in Europe ...
  • Stop trying to overturn Roe v. Wade and never spend Federal dollars on abortion ...
  • No cloning ... ever ...
  • Increase spending of diabetes research ...
  • Drill, explore, drill ... Repeat ...
  • Nuclear power ... now ...
  • Stop all current Federal alternative energy research, spend the budgeted money on battery research, clean coal and coal-to-fuel research ...
  • Protect the weak (stopping at a woman's choice), help the disadvantaged, once ...
  • Equal opportunity for all, equal pay for equal effort ...
  • Pro Choice heath care, return health care choice to the individual, eliminate state mandates ...
  • Total embargo of Cuba, North Korea, Syria and Iran ...
  • Let losers lose ...
  • Let winners win ... no cheating ...
  • Balance the expected benefit of any Federal regulation against the worst possible unintended consequences when doing the cost benefit analysis ...
  • One generation of 100% handouts per family ... 50% for the next generation ... 25% for the third ...

The Benefits of Pumping Domestic US Oil ...

For every additional million barrels of oil we pump per day we gain:

  • a 6% reduction in our trade deficit
  • 500,000 new US jobs
  • 45 Billion dollars stay in America which strengthens the dollar
If we were to double our domestic production from 5 million to 10 million barrels per day we would:
  • reduce the trade deficit by 30+%
  • create 2,500,000 new jobs
  • 220 Billion dollars stay in America

Any reduction in the price of gasoline at the pump would be icing on this wonderfully beneficial cake ...

ANWAR vs Persian Gulf Oil ...

Where would you rather get oil for the next 13 years ?

In 2006 we imported 800 million barrels of oil from the Persian Gulf ...

ANWAR contains 10.4 billion barrels = 12.88 years ...

If you just consider the bad actors among the oil producers we imported a total of 534 million barrels from Saudi Arabia in 2006. ANWAR represents 19+ years of Saudi oil.

I don't know about you but I'd rather not buy oil from the Saudi's ....

In case you are wondering what "pristine" means when applied to ANWAR ...

Are coercive questioning techniques ever effective ?

This question needs to be examined in the context of who is being questioned and what those questions are. So in that light ...

What type of questions are we asking the Gitmo detainees and is it logical that coercion can work in any of these cases ?

1) Are we asking them to admit to a crime (i.e. Did you set that bomb ?) ?

2) Are we asking them for information on their terrorist cell and or contacts ?

3) Are we asking them their favorite color ?

In question number 1 I believe that under enough stress most people will admit to anything to relieve that stress. Of course even a willing confession to murder in the US court system is usually backed up by actual forensic evidence or the confessor revealing information that only the killer could know. We don't ask the chaps in Gitmo if they are terrorists, we already know they are.

Question number 3 of course would require very little stress to get an answer from almost anyone. It may not be the right answer but we would have almost no way of verifying that so coercive techniques in that sort of case would be a waste of time.

Question number 2 of course is exactly the sort of question we are asking the Gitmo guys. Most answers we obtain can often be crossed checked and verified. Thus most false answers would be exposed. Just imagine you are being held captive and are asked for your ATM Pin code. You could lie and if your captor lets you go without verifying it then even a coerced answer would of course be suspect. But if your captor didn't let you go and went out and tried your pin only to find out you had given false information I would venture to guess that there will be a certain level of stress that would cause you to reveal your real pin number eventually.

While a simplistic analysis I think it should be fairly obvious that depending of the data being sought coercive techniques can and do elicit valuable (to the questioner) information. (see waterborading and Sheik Kalihd)

So is waterboarding torture ? Who cares, it works.

For those gentle souls out there that claim we lose the "moral high" ground if we use waterboarding I would point out that every single one of the beheading victims of Islamic terrorists would have gladly been waterboarded instead of being decapitated. They are not the same thing and your "moral high ground" measuring system has some faulty moral equivalence built into it.
